Sara Sohail Synopsis

The Port Tower project, Karachi, Pakistan.
Project concept:
The Port Tower is a building planned for Karachi, the financial capital of Pakistan. When completed, the new structure will be 1,947 ft (593 m)[1] high. The height of the tower has a special significance - it represents the independence year of Pakistan which is the year 1947.

Project brief:
The tower is part of a complex which will be constructed on artificial islands in the shape of symbols found on the flag of Pakistan - a crescent and a star. It will consist of a hotel and a shopping center, as well as an extensive area to host large-scale expositions. Integrating into Karachi’s skyline, main features of the venture will include a revolving restaurant and a viewing gallery offering a panoramic view of the coastline and the city. The tower would provide world class office space with residential, conference, performance, retail, restaurant, and support facilities.
Site:
The construction site for this building is located along the Clifton shoreline of the crescent-shaped island. The Tower will be developed on a 10 acre waterfront site, off the Mai Kolachi expressway called the Karachi Waterfront. The total 90 acre land required for the project would be made available through reclamation of the sea, the official said.

Scope of work:
The  main features of the venture would be a commercial complex, residential estate, recreational facilities and a viewing gallery offering a panoramic view of the coastline and the city. The complex would have speedy lifts for the visitors to have a bird's-eye view of the city from a revolving restaurant at its top. The low-rise residential complex would comprise independent units, while the high-rise complex would have A and B categories of apartments.

The mega project would generate huge employment opportunities, as some 40,000 workers, along with 137 industries would remain associated with the project for few years.

A Monolithic Skyscraper, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Project concept:
A monolithic skyscraper serving as a “gateway to Mecca”, it would serve as a symbol of Islamic History all over the world.
Project brief:
The tower will house a Four Seasons hotel, upscale office space, ultra-luxurious condos, individual mobile housing units, vertical farms, an open air amphitheatre suspended in the air, recreational halls and an observatory. Residents will be able to take a trip up on one of the building's elevators, and enjoy the private sky terrace.
Site:
The futuristic mega-skyscraper will be built in Jeddah, a cosmopolitan, commercially-minded port city on the Red Sea. This structure will be the focal point of Kingdom City, a sprawling urban development.
Scope of work:
The monolithic skyscraper will serve as a dual symbol for the city of Jeddah— both cultural and religious. Jeddah is often considered the "gateway to Mecca" due to its proximity to the Islamic holy city, and this monument will represent both Jeddah's historic symbolism in Islam as well as Saudi Arabia's prominence in international business. There is plenty of stunning skyward concept images to marvel at in the interim.

Tourist resort, Khan Poor Dam, Taxila

Project concept:
A multipurpose tourist resort that would serve as the hot spot for the tourists, depicting the old cultures and traditions of Pakistan, along with a glimpse of the futuristic modern developments taking place around the globe.

Project brief:
The resort offers bungalows to guests which range from cozy classic simple wooden huts right up to spacious family-sized units with proper air-conditioning, providing facilities like beach-front restaurants with excellent seafood and western cuisines, boating facilities, travel and tour booking to adjacent areas, swimming pools, super markets, pool bars, renting services etc. The resort would also offer fishing and mountain climbing opportunities.

Site:
The construction site for this building is located along the Khan pur Dam. The resort will be developed on a waterfront site, near the exotic environment of Islamabad.

Scope of work:
Pakistan is such a diverse region, it is the epicenter of various religions and settlements long before the creation of the nation that exists today.  The cultural and physical diversity of Pakistan has developed the country into a tourist hot spot for foreign travelers as well as adventurers. This resort will act as a gateway to Pakistan for those who want to explore the beauty of Pakistani land. Anyone staying here will be happy with the quality of the competitively priced rooms which are only a small, quick step to Islamabad.
