1: MUSEUM OF ISLAMIC HISTORY
The project is a contemporary museum of Islamic civilization, in particularly celebrating the golden age of Islamic history. A period of almost 1000 years from 6th century to 15th century. This was the time when the people from Islamic civilization excelled most in the manners of education, science, medicine, technology etc.
· The focus of this project would be to educate the people about the achievements of the Muslims of the Golden ages in order to motivate a sense of responsibility towards the progressive nature of our society today. The design of the spaces as well as the nature of the spaces would display the peak times of the Islamic civilization.
· Considering the current situation of our socio-economic conditions, it is easy to be pessimistic about anything. This project is aimed as a motivational exercise for the people of Pakistan, to remind them of not just the glory and wonders of our Muslim fellows, but also that in order for any civilization or society to progress it needs to have thirst for the quest of knowledge and development of mankind. And to rekindle in them the spark that would lead to the greater good of our country. As positive attitudes leads to positive discoveries.
· The purpose of designing such a museum is to celebrate the glory of their accomplishments and contributions of the Islamic civilization to the modern world. This museum will serve as a place to persuade the mass for a better future by reminiscing the past glory of the Islamic civilization’s golden age. And will provide a platform where events can take place that will bring together scholars and thinkers from different parts of country together, hence a place where people will come together as one.
· This platform will provide the younger generation with an opportunity to create new links with the history of an almost 1000 years of the remarkable history. This part of the history is not regarded with much heed from the west because at that time the west was going through dark ages. Many advancements made by the Muslim Scholars, Scientists and leaders were an eye opener for the west and the West excelled because they are the ones who took many of those findings further, in order to bring us where we are today in the history of mankind. Many great inventions have been made, but people should always remember the ones who started the THREAD OF THOUGHTS
2: CHILDREN’S INTERACTIVE LEARNING COMPLEX
Pakistan has an estimated population of over 162.4 million inhabitants in 2006, and a relatively high growth rate. Although more than 45% percent of Pakistan’s population is of children under the age of 18, yet there are no proper places of learning where we can teach the children , the Islamic values(permanent life study) and as well as worlds knowledge(temporary life study) in a single place through recreation and entertainment which are specially designed for these children.
· A complex for providing the curricular and co-curricular space for the school going children. Where they can spend their extra hours in a constructive manner.
· As the children of today knows how to play games, how to play with toys, how to speak, how to follow the non-muslim, how to read the fake story books.etc. But unfortunately they really don’t know how to educate themselves according to Islamic values. They know who is harry porter but they don’t know even the seerah of our BELOVED PROPHET (Peace Be Upon Him. They should choose their role model willingly and our role model should be our PROPHET (Peace Be Upon Him).
· The main objective of designing the children’s interactive learning complex in Lahore is to produce a system that is derived according to the psychology of children and based on the true concept of interaction and best possible knowledge.
· The purpose of designing multifunctional spaces starting from classrooms to routine circulation areas is to generate lot of activities and interest. This interaction can make a child to learn from environment and this is how he can be educated informally.
· With one of the youngest populations in the world, Pakistan’s future depends heavily on the development of its children. I strongly believe that Pakistani children need exposure to ISLAM and new, unique and revolutionary teaching methods which go beyond the tired and stale methods currently practiced in the country. Through this complex, I hope to realize the potential inherent in Pakistan’s children and the country's future.
3: INSTITUTE OF ISLAMIC CULTURE
The project is an Islamic institute. The institute aims at developing a better understanding of Islam, the religion, its cultures and values amongst Muslims particularly and others generally and promotes Islamic values. For the purpose institute will provide locals and foreigners specialized.
· The project aim at designing a building which is representative of Islamic community, by searching for deeper meaning of the Islamic culture and then representing it in the building.
· The design not only aims at representation of Islamic culture but also at being in continuity with regional context and tradition and at the same time being innovative and keeping in touch with modern technology, so that it can be a contribution towards establishment of the identity of the community in the heterogeneous environment of today’s global village.
